* NOW * BOOKING * ALL * PERFORMERS!!!
RAINBOW ATTRACTIONS,  LLC      PRESENTS…
DD RAINBOW’s COMEDY “BONG SHOW”

DD RAINBOW’S COMEDY BONG SHOW is a comedy REMIX and spin off of The Gong Show which was originally created and produced by Chuck Barris, and was known for its absurdist humor and style, which outlandish acts were presented; a small cash prize was awarded to each show's winner with a Finale at the end of the year {December 2, 2022) for a Grand Prize.

Format:
Each show presented a competition of amateur performers of often dubious talent, with a panel of three celebrity judges. If any judge considered an act to be particularly bad, they could force it to stop by striking a large gong, The M/C would then ask the judge(s) in question why they had gonged the act, usually receiving a facetious response.

Any act that survived without being gonged was given a score by each of the three judges on a scale of 0 to 10, for a maximum possible score of 30. The contestant who achieved the highest combined score won the grand prize: a check for $4.20 (a "highly unusual amount") and a "Golden Bong" Trophy.
In the event of a tie, a tiebreakers will be used in a decision made by the celebrity judges. On rare occasions, both winning acts would each receive a check and a trophy. No prize was awarded if all the acts on a particular episode were gonged. Runners-up received various prizes; an iron, pack of gum. When the M/C announced the final score, (a little person and former Munchkin) ran onstage in top hat and tails, throwing confetti while balloons dropped from overhead.

The Gong Show also gave out a "Most Outrageous Act of the Week", selected by the producers and each week's judges. The winner of this award was announced following the trophy presentation on the Friday show, and the performer received a dirty tube sock and a check for $4.20 (four dollars and twenty cents) with a chance to compete in the Finale (December 2, 2022) for a Grand Prize!
DD RAINBOW’S COMEDY "BONG SHOW" will do a "gong show" revival.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!  *2022* BLACK HISTORY MONTH *February 2022*
 Debra faulk portrays
NANCY GREEN in
Being Aunt Jemima, the Pancake Queen
Script by: Bo List     Costume by: Robert Haven

Nancy Green became one of the first prosperous African American women in the U.S. Green was born enslaved in Montgomery County, Kentucky, in 1834. While in Kentucky she worked for the Walker family and moved with them to Chicago just after the Great Fire, in 1872. Eight years later, Nancy Green became "Aunt Jemima." Businessman R.T. Davis had purchased a pre-mixed, self-rising recipe for pancakes and wanted an "Aunt Jemima," a character from minstrel shows which were popular at the time, to be the face of his pancakes. "Aunt Jemima" would be a friendly, animated, African American cook who served a wealthy white family. Playing the role of "Aunt Jemima" gave Green financial independence few African Americans and few women experienced at the time. She used her wealth as a means to empower her community. She was particularly active in her church, leading missionary trips, investing in anti-poverty programs for African Americans, and advocating for equal rights. Though her work depended on a derogatory racial stereotype, her financial success demonstrates how black Americans could sometimes play on and use such images to their advantage.
